42ND CONFERENCE
The 42nd Conference of the Syrian Ophthalmological Society is considered one of the most prominent scientific events in the field of ophthalmology in Syria. It was held in Damascus from April 23 to April 25, 2026, with wide participation of physicians and specialists from inside and outside Syria.
The conference featured a rich scientific program, including specialized lectures and workshops, as well as live surgical demonstrations, which allowed for the exchange of expertise and keeping up with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and eye surgery. It also witnessed active participation from medical and pharmaceutical companies, which showcased the latest technologies, equipment, and treatment solutions, contributing to the integration of scientific and practical aspects.
Special thanks and appreciation are extended to those who organized this distinguished scientific event for their great efforts in ensuring the success of the conference and presenting it in a way that reflects the level of the specialty in Syria, under the leadership of the Society’s President, Dr. Anas Al-Jord, and the members of the Society.

It is a scientific and professional medical organization that brings together ophthalmologists in Syria and aims to advance the scientific and specialized level of ophthalmology in the country through scientific and practical activities.
OUR EVENTS
A delegation from the Syrian Ophthalmological Society, led by DR. ANAS AL-JORD and including DR. MUNIR ATTAALLAH, DR. RAMEZ AL-TAWASHI, and DR. HAZAR RAIF, paid a courtesy visit to DR. MARWAN AL-HALABI, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting highlighted the society’s role in advancing ophthalmology through seminars and scientific conferences. The minister expressed his support for the society’s work and emphasized cooperation in all activities related to ophthalmology.
The chairman and delegation members thanked the minister for his continued support. The meeting was attended by DR. ABEER AL-QUDSI, Assistant to the Minister, and DR. SALAH AL-DIN AL-KHATIB, Director of Teaching Hospitals.
